Pietra del Diavolo Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2019 Wine Review
Pietra del Diavolo Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2019
Dark red plum and nectarine, with a subtle hint of licorice.
Black pepper, new leather, and dark earth—there’s even a touch of mushroom buried in the soil.
Each time you bring the glass to your nose, new aromas emerge, making this a wine that becomes more intriguing with time rather than right after opening.
The bouquet turns jammy, reminiscent of stewed plums and strawberry jam.
Just 15 minutes after opening, the impression changes dramatically.
Wild raspberry and pomegranate notes start to rise.

First sip:
Wow—what is this?
The wine clings to the palate.
Saliva rushes in, with the acidity feeling vibrant and lively but never sharp.
The texture is so soft and plump that it almost feels velvety in the mouth.
Amazingly low tannins—hard to believe this is a red wine. With this kind of texture, the tannins are surprisingly gentle.
While holding the wine in your mouth, you barely notice the tannins, but after swallowing, a touch of black pepper lingers, leaving a clean finish.
One of the most impressive Vino Nobile di Montepulciano I’ve had recently.
I tasted the same wine last year, but this time it’s shockingly better.
