Madrevite Elvé Trasimeno Grechetto 2023 Wine Review

Seoul Wine Dispatch 2025. 11. 18. 15:49

Madrevite Elvé Trasimeno Grechetto 2023

Grapefruit and orange peel on the nose, with a lively, tingling minerality on the palate.

Bright acidity and refreshing clarity.

Notes of white peach, jasmine blossom, and a touch of flint.

Clean and precise, yet never hollow—its slight saltiness makes it especially suitable for pairing with shellfish.

Acidity: ●●●●○

Sweetness: ●○○○○

When left in the glass, it reveals gentle aromas of mandarin and fresh apple juice.

Despite the fruit character, the palate remains distinctly dry.

As the temperature rises, a faint hint of residual sweetness appears.

Best enjoyed well-chilled, served in a small-bowled glass to preserve freshness.

Madrevite ‘Elvé’ Trasimeno Grechetto 2023

Region: Italy > Umbria > Trasimeno > Trasimeno DOC

A white wine from the Trasimeno DOC in Umbria, central Italy, representing the region’s refined inland white style.

Vineyards are located around Lake Trasimeno at about 280 meters above sea level, where the **silt–clay soils and the lake’s moderating climate allow the grapes to ripen evenly. Made from 100% Grechetto.

“Madrevite” means the main screw of a winepress, symbolizing how nature and the vineyard remain the core elements of the estate’s philosophy.  Only 8,150 bottles were produced.

Fermentation occurs with native yeasts in stainless steel, followed by six months of lees aging and an additional three months of bottle maturation before release.

** Silt soil, which has particle size between clay and sand, provides a balanced combination of water retention and drainage. In viticulture, silt is known to enhance aromatic precision and minerality, while its moderate fertility helps produce wines with focused flavors and refined structure.
